CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAMME

Mercy Centre is currently providing accommodation and case management support in and around Coffs Harbour to a number of individuals who have been referred through the DADHC Criminal Justice Programme. The majority of these people are from an Aboriginal background and have recently been released from prison.

Accommodation is provided in the form of group homes for those people who require 24 hour support and drop in support for those who are able to live in the community in relative independence.

This has involved intensive liaison with Department of Corrective Services and various other support agencies including Aboriginal Health Service, Supported Employment and Probation and Parole.
